this hose is left over after i installed my CAI and i don't know what to install it to...i know it is for the starting air valve and usually other lude owners have had problems idling, but my car has no problems with it just tie-wrapped there....so does it really need to be connected to anything? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!
I know everyone who has an AEM CAI has this problem but I'm not sure what their solution is. My short ram has a nipple to the left of the rubber throttle body clamp where that hose is connected.
You may be able to drill a hole in the CAI and screw in some kind of threaded valve and then connect the hose to it.
It is some sort of vacuum hose and probably should be connected.
Ok, I looked at mine and I'm wrong. AEM CAI has a little valve it goes on, exactly were it did on the stock intake. I'm not sure what it's for Was there another hose that has nowhere to go?
I have an ICEMAN, and it's missing that too. Dont' know what to do with it. Seems to have no effect tho. I think its the starter valve or something. If you look on the inside of your hood, there's a diagram on what that is.
If its the hose that goes on top of the stock intake than I would say it does need to be connected or just leave it out, but don't plug it. I pluged mine and it made the rpms act weird, I would tape the throttle lightly and let it go and suddently the rpm would just shoot up. It needs this hose to suck air in.
