I am installing my cold air intake it it tells me to raise my car. Well, I heard people telling me that I have to take off the front bumper. It doesn't say anywhere in the instructions that I have to take off the bumper. My jack stands are too tall so I can't really raise it. Can someone please help me out on what to do here?
i didn't havta raise my car or take off my bumper, i just made the whole wider with a dremel where the stock intake went down, attached the intake to the throttle body, connected the vaccuum lines, and plugged up the extra vaccuum hose, i removed that black covering near the front passenger side wheel well to get tothe intake...
Well you forgot he needs to take out the resonator, you dont have to remove your bumper what you can do is jack your car up take off the passenger side tire and then start undoing all the plastic junk underneath your car. You should be able to see the resonator it is a big black box with 3 or 4 bolts holding it on, you can only access three of them with the bumper still on so far the last one i just wiggled my resonator for a long time and pulled on it and eventually brok,e the last part. I figure this way is a lot easier than taking off the bumper to get access to one bolt that is easily broken.

I pulled a few bolts from my bumper to get my hand in there for the last bolt, but later I read that if you pull the turn signal you can get at the bolt through the hole... I didn't get to try, but it sounds like it might line up and it would be a heck of a lot easier than dropping the bumper or trying to bust off parts.
BryanS is correct if you remove the turn signal and use a universal joint on your 1/4 in ratchet you can remove the last bolt, the other three are easy to see and get to once you remove the passenger side tire and remove the fender lining
I just ripped out my whole resinator after reading this, I just left it there, hopefully this should increase airflow up into that area, Im going to dremel out the excess sheet metal once I get the car into my uncles shop. Maybe build a scoop underneath the car for it too.

The only thing I had to plug up was one of the small ports on the intake manifold. Then I just connected that small line (the one you disconnected in the beginning of the installation) into where that small hole is in the intake tube. Hope I did it right.
Hey guys I was also wondering about something else. Where the intake goes down into the fender well. There is barely enough room for that metal tube to fit through the hole. It is kinda scratchin against the side and I don't like that. Should I just take a Dremel and make that hole larger around where it is touching? Is there anything else I can do so that it doesn't touch around the edges?
