timing off perhaps.. how many miles is on the motor?
auto or manual?
how does it cut off?.. violently shaking and then stall?
does it start right back up?

its a manual. it doesnt really shake it just suddenly cuts off. it starts back up usually on the first try. a few times ive had to crank it a few times to get it to stay on. it has 140,000 miles.

it just cuts off like when you turn ur key off?.. it's not throwing a CEL?

-check battery terminals
-check ALL of your vacuum lines to make sure they aren't dry rotted (take and bend them throughout and look for cracks in the hoses)
-pull your spark plugs and check them to see their condition
-keep your eye on the RPM when you come to a stop to see if it keeps falling smoothly or if it bounces and then turns off
-if those seem like they aren't the problem, check your fuel lines. perhaps a bad fuel pump and it's losing pressure?

^ +1

after you do that, check your ignitor module inside the dizzy. My car did this and after I replaced it, it solved the problem. My symptoms were a little different though. Sparratic shutoff and also the idle would fluctuate up high which was what made it obvious.
