Need help - 80W headlights won't work

I bought a pair of 9006 80 watt headlight bulbs for my 93 SI, but after installing them together, they won't turn on. BUT, one bulb installed alone WILL turn on. Go figure. My OEM lights are currently 40W, but certainly not bright enough. Is there some sort of circuit breaker stopping the use of 2 80W lights? If so how can i get around this?

i'd be careful using such high wattage bulbs, you might burn out some wiring.

Time to hardwire your lights. It's a mess when one of wires burn.
