Need Advice ASAP.

I took my car in.. thought it was the clutch. Come to find out it's actually my Tranny. It was going GRRRRRRRRRRRR major ratteling .. sounded like a damn hooptied.. i was loosing major power, couldnt shift above 4k rpm's (i could.. but it was grind).

Clutch still grabbed and everything..

But it's either the syncrhos or the bearings or summin in the tranny. It's actually a 96 Tranny on there.. (i have a 93) from the junkyard i guess.

Is it cheaper to replace the synchros and have someone try and fix it or is it cheaper to replace it?

I need some advice.. or has anyone ever had this noise before?!

It sounded like someone dropped a screw in the tranny.. thats the noise.. but REALLY ****n loud.

I'm not much help, but here's a chance for you got get a JDM VTEC tranny with LSD. Rebuilding a trans. usually cost around $1k. I'm sure you can find a used one for much cheaper.

see how much a tranny from the bone yard costs, then see how much it costs to get yours fixed, remember all the labor inlvolved though.

if he dont have a vtec motor allready there is no point in getting the jdm tranny with LSD, the ratios will be all messed up for the 2.3.

i would say rebuild this one, if u do go out and find a used one, there is still a chance of thatone being messed as well... might as well do it right the first time
