my tach is going crazy!!

i have a 94 Prelude VTEC, at idle the Tach is like stuck at 1600RPM's, and just stays there, no matter how i drive it, and also at times it'll just jump to 7k, and just stay there.

any ideas?

Check your battery connections and make sure they're on there nice and tight. I had the same problem and it was just a loose connection on the + battery terminal. Also check your alternator connections while you're at it.

That's not true because mine did start all the time. It was just slightly moveable and it was enough to make my tach and speedo go nuts. Don't want to check it out, then don't.
