hey everyone i just bought a 1996 honda prelude si!!!!
i wanted to get some info on here about it because i am starting to put more and more money into it and want to make sure everything is going to come out clean because the person i got it from was a complete idiot and tried to do everything himself and pretty much screwed the car........
so here is a list of probelms i have had so far:
*first thing happened my brakes got really really mushy when stopping so i had to replace my master cylinder which has fixed that problem but my abs light will never go off......
*today i had one problem fixed where everytime i put a new 15 amp fuse into the stop/horn spot and hit the break it would blow which turned out to be the kid before me put a honda accord wiring harness into the new taillights which gave it a 50 amp short now its running 4 amps......... also now that i got that first light fixed my open trunk light stays on.....dont know what to do with that
*i am in the process of installing a new alarm system i will let everyone know how that goes
*i need new head lights because the kid before idk what he did but the inside of the light has completely melted and the lights barely project in front of my car giving me very limited visability at night...
*cant get the lugnuts off to get tires balanced because the kid has one large locking lugnut on each tire, three small lpcking lugnuts, and 1 normal lugnut on each sooooooooo pretty much dont know what to do there since i cant get a hold of him for the keys and dont wanna pay for a whole new assembly...
so thats about it for now......here are a few pics check it out
oh and let me know if a h23a non vtec is worth putting anything into or should i do a motor swap......thanks!!!!

Pull the Code for it, that'll tell you what's wrong. If you need more info on this, I'll link you.

What's on there are aftermarket lights, like the one found on eBay. Either get a set of OEM or JDM Headlights. And I'm almost willing to bet he installed a HID system that got so hot that they melted the inside of the lights then... Can you take closer pictures of inside the lights??

That sucks without the keys.. You can try getting a (cheap) soft socket and try hammering it over the lug nuts to remove them.. That or try to find a tire shop that will/can remove them for you. Or final option, see if you can figure out what brand they are and buy the keys for them.. :S

It can be, depending on what you want to do...and spend.

The car appears clean and straight though.. I'm not a fan of the eBay Special lights, Z3 Fenders, or wheels personally, but she does look very very clean.. Good find otherwise..
I'm assuming it had a paint job though, correct? And you don't have a front lip, weird..

thanks for the posts and yeah i dont like the headlights or the fender myself but i got a good deal on the car and couldnt pass it up and they are a easy fix......and as for the rims they will probably be getting replaced because they look like **** with my car and i think one of them is bent sooooooo any suggestions on some black rims would be great!!!! and to me it looks like it may have been repainted but it is the original factory color the r81 i already looked that up but i am looking to maybe take it to black....maybe.....i cant get better pics of the headlights until tomorrow i need good lighting to show you the real stupidity of this problem lol thanks again for the posts

another couple things i want to know how to find out is what all my parts are ie clutch, exhaust, intake, and such as i am not veryy mechanically inclined( thats why i got a honda xD) any help would be awesome!!!

Are you asking what brand are the parts??

We can't tell you from those pictures.. The parts should have a name on them..

The Header should have a badge some where..
The Intake looks like a No-Name SRI.
Who knows on the clutch, that's no visible..

It looks like you might have an aftermarket Radiator also.. But I could be wrong.. Or just the angle..

ok cool well im going to do a full sweep of my car and post the pics tomorrow!!! and i also got my factory antenna working today so thats good i really want my car to be back to oem so thats what im going to be working on and im thinking about putting a h22 head on my h23 block what do you think of doing that??? thanks brandon

research before you do an H23 vtec hybrid. read up everything you can possibly read. its alot more work than just slapping on and H22 head and wiring up vtec ect...
