ok i don't know if this goes here or in OT but i'll just post here.
well lastnight me and 2 buddies start messing around with our cars. i have a 92 prelude with a JDM F22b, my friend has a 2000 Integra LS, and my other buddy has a 1990 BMW. well we were doing dumb crap on the road and driving fast well this joker cuts me off and i had to slam on my breaks and cut my buddy off in the LS well as soon as i cut him off i'm doing about 80 and the light turn reds so i take a right turn doing 80 and i down shift into the turn, well my RPMs went way past 7.5k and my car made the turn with little problems. i got out of my car and i almost shlt in my jeans. A--> i've never taken a shape turn like that at 80 B--> i went way past my redline
well my car is running perfect. not a problem in the world. no freaky noises or anything. now my question is
is the F22B motor a stronger motor then the H23 or H22?
on a side note --> my buddies thought i was was badass how i didn't jack up my car or lose control in the turn. i love the prelude suspention
haha it was a 2 lane road... i guess my question is why didn't my motor blow? i mean i blew my H23 and yet my F22b seems to be able to hold more. i guess does anyone know which motor is stronger. and not in hp but like stronger.
I have gone passed red a few times, too. The worst was when I accidently shifted into 2nd instead of 4th. I think I hit about 8500 RPM. The H23 is a strong engine imo
well, the engine parts are most likely near or equal in strengh. I believe the only reason you cannot rev the f22 to 8.5 is the single cam and not the risk of skrewing your valves.

you have a rev limiter for a reason. It helps save your motor. If you pass redline you really wont do a lot of damage. When I'm at the track I go into redline...shifting about 7900 rpms.

ohh, f22b, my bad. But still same thing, in my opinion the only reason the F22/h23 dont rev all the way to 8k is because they dont make any power up there, well maby not the h23 because of the displacement, but i have heard of h23/vtecs reving to 8.5 with no problems.

but the rev limiter can't save you if you misshift into a lower gear

I did this in my 5g, not a problem either.
You just got lucky, the f22 isn't stronger IMO then the H23, just consdider it luck, the motors are made well, and it took the beating you gave it. Nice manuver on the turn though.
If I remember correctly, the F22b has the same stroke as the H23, just lower bore. I believe the bottom ends are the same, other than the difference in bore.
