my h23 randomly dies....

ill be cruising to a stop or slowing down ofr a turn, push in the clutch and the engine dies... weird thing is though, it starts right back up EVERY time. it happens maybe once every two weeks, usually within 10 mins of starting the car. its very unhealthy when i go to turn and all of a sudden have no power steering/brakes any ideas would be appreciated.
also i just recently had my shop do a major tune up/inspection

hmm might be the following (troubleshoot in this order):

1. Ignition switch (electrical side) - if no dash lights= no power to distributor/igniter
2. PGM-FI relay - dash lights on but no humming sound from the fuel pump = no juice
3. Distributor - dash on, fuel pump ok, engine won't run at all = bearing inside is shot

I used to have this problem too.
I thought it was because the rpms went too low and died, so when that happens (it feels like it's about to die), I just don't push down all the way and give it some more gas.

Any check engine lights? My distributor is fuxed (CEL code 9) and my car does that every once in a while so I am figuring that it is that. Hope this helps. If you find it to be something else please post because I am interested.

Under the center 6x9 speaker compartment there's a metal plate. Remove that and you should be able to gain access/see your fuel pump.

edit: Happened to me before...like the engine would stall for no reason. I changed my main relay and it worked great for 2 weeks then same stuff happened until the distributor finally gave up. This might be an early indication that you should have a distributor handy.
