I would be more than happy to meet anyone from FL there to race. We can even video tape it and upload it to the website. The next one will be the second Friday in August I believe. Just pm me if you want to run.
i wish i was closer to FL....too bad im in AZ. we get import night once a week here
Too bad the vtec's, with them mods are pulling 178Hp 151Tq ATW minus the cams...... So, with all them mods you have done you are sill about 15 Hp less then a stock H22....Should of spent your money on a h22a swap.....

::shakes head:: That "roar" your hearing is more than likely your second set of runners opening, which both the h22 and the h23 have. As for a slap in to your seat.. Your kidding right? VTEC isn't a 75 shot of nitrous, it's more like a 20 shot of nitrous which would be more like a 10 shot to the wheels ... wow I've driven both a Prelude with an h22 (usdm and jdm) and I own a Prelude with the h23a1 motor. Needless to say, I'm more than happy with my car. If you need convincing, hit me up if you’re ever in FL and I'll give you a ride

It's nice to have a nice flat, broad torque curve, as well as the HP curve isn't it? I'm sticking with my H23. You can make it just as fast as a VTEC Prelude. Hell, I run almost even with modded 5th Gens as it is.

I'd say more are in the 175 area. Cams don't help the h23 that much because they do not name new acutal cams for the h23. They only have regrinds which won't do nearly as much. So you took a car that had either 30 or 37 less hp to start off with and with the same mods that is down to a 15hp difference(bet he gets at least 5 from the header) and did you notice his powerband is just about the peak power level the whole time. I have never seen a vtec dyno with such a smooth and even curve. So the vtec might have 15 more hp for a part of the powerband but it has more like 10-12 hp more for the majority of the time.
BTW he still has the legal engine for things like smog(which is that big of a deal) and he has about 2-3k still in his pocket.
Yellow, you have give me hope for my car. I have heard a lot of people say how close the Si is to the VTEC. I have never run against a VTEC Prelude or even driven one but I am glad to hear this. I would LOVE to line up against one to see the results for myself though. After seeing my friend with a 99 M coupe race my other friend's 2001 M3...I LOVE seeing actual races over magazine racing.
One question, why does everyone talk about VTEC like it is a turbo or something. I have driven my friends S2000 and a GSR. VTEC was really nothing special in it. I was expecting to feel a power boost, especially in the S2000. Needlesss to say, I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong though, if I was given the chance to have VTEC over my Si I would but I am wondering why so many people make a big deal about it.
Oh well, both nice cars and I am glad to have one. That's all I have to say.

What are you talking about?
You can have cams made for any engine, it's just if you want to spend the money.
Regrinds should be ok. The only thing about them is that you need to get quality ones, otherwise they don't line up (although I hear this is more of an issue with vtecs) and may break.
