That is what I first thought about doing when I was considering getting the unit. It make so much sense because there is NO modification to the air-mix linkages. Good to see you got it working

Ok I have been quiet for a months on this topic and now I talk. haha Ok I have a problem trying to find the air mix motor. Has anyone used the Acura Cl motor? If so please let me know. Also Do I honestly pull my dash? I don't mind if I have to some ghetto action.

At the moment my system:

Turns on. illumination
Turns off
Memory works.
Dosn't blow air yet. I just use the old fan selector.
Defrosts.
Vent control works.
Recirculates (? it pulsates?)on off on off on off.....etc.

Just need my flippin MOTOR, relay, and trasistor. If anyone has any extra parts please sell them to me.

95VTEX:

Sup man! You're the one with the half-functioning CC at LFW right? I'm the guy that's supposed to email you that picture of the air mix motor. Unfortunately I lost your email address. But anyways it looks like you finally joined PO.com and obviously you saw the pictures I posted here. BTW maybe (again maybe...) I can get a hold of some hard-to-find parts for the CC conversion like air mix motor and transistor ($95 brand new off Acura dealership for transistor alone ). Just give me a few weeks.

yes yes and $20 is a good price. i got transistor from junkyard for cheaper. i found some other acuras that has a transistor too that would probably work too. any 12v relay will work. there are tons of them everywhere on hondas, so just go find a junkyard and cut one out with the harness. same with transistor. make sure you get harness with it so its easier to do. the air mix motor you can also get from a guy called boris on ebay. his email is somewhere in this thread if you look.

you have to put it in your evaporator, it tells the AC when to turn off from it getting too cold inside the evap. The US one has one, it's a little metal cylinder with a very small copper wire coming from it leading into the evap, but it doesn't work the same way the JDM one does.. you actually have to short out that system to use the JDM one.

Hey guys,

About the evap sensor. I have the sensor and am planning on pulling the dash out to do the install. I was wondering if there is any way I wouold be able to avoid getting the A/C drained/recharged to install the sensor. I was thinking I might be able to get the bottom cover off the evap and work the sensor into place.

What do you think?

i put my sensor exactly where it is on the jdm unit. not on the evaporator but on the heater box thingy. i never drained my ac line. dont see why you would have too. of course, my ac line was empty to start with but no, dont think you will have too. so wish i woulda taken pics during my install. i just copied everything from the jdm unit on to mine best i could.

if anyone needs a relay or transistor, i found a set in my garage left over. dont have the harness for the transitor but i do for the relay. i have an old air mix motor too, but its fried :P . i think $65 is WAY too much to pay for that motor. ill give anyone who needs the transistor or relay it for free, just pay shipping.

ECH, I'll take ur transistor. I had blown mine, and 'fixed' it by regrounding the blown fuse within the transistor, but a new one would be best.

You got a PM bro.

Zimmlude: I don't see how you could do that...

ECH: you put you evap sensor on the heater box? where did you put it exactly? on the JDM it's on the evap box where the A/C thermostat is, except on the other side because of the RHD.

also I emailed boris but haven't got a response yet... so I guess I'll have to find another source for my JDM air mix motor...

Hey ECH, I'll take the relay off your hands for you

Let me know how much shipping would be and I can paypal you the money.

Forbidden, Have you tried volk-rays at the e-mail above? He works at a yard that imports front clips and sells the engines. He should be able to get everything that would be needed, even the vacuum controled heater valve.

I am going to try and get the sensor into the evap without draining the system as it is pretty expensive to do, we'll see.

Thanks,

Forbidden: He is out of town for the weekend. I was talking to him to get parts. what all do you need?

Zimmlude: Is there a way to install the evap sensor without draining the system? I don't know how you are going to do that. So please let us know. Mad props if you can find a way

ECHprelude Does your system work with the sensor in the heater box?
