If I didn't have to buy a grip of front end suspension parts, I'd buy it from you...how much you asking?

$430 for a climate control thats sounds like a lot. I only spent like $140 for the whole thing + $40 for the evap temp sensor and relay. But yea how much you spend doesn't matter because it what makes you unique For the record, how many do you guys think have done more than 80% of this swap? What I mean like more than 80% is that everything should be functional except for the air mix motor. Hehe mine used to be 99.99% functional until I took the air mix motor out because it doesn't fully open/close the valve and I'm too lazy to install it back, but I will when I have the time.

i paid $350 orginally for the whole thing sensor, and heater valve vacum control. alot of people dont have that. anyways. i had to buy another unit cause i fried my first tryin to hook it up. so total $430 ish.

anyways...i noticed something. i finally got ahold of a helms and was comparing the jdm diagram to the usdm one. look at the ac clutch relays on both of them. notice something different in the wiring? the jdm one connects to the condenser relay (white/grn) while the usdm conects both to the yel/blk to the fuse box. i think i am on to something here. might have to cut one of the ylw/blk wires and run it to the condenser relays white/grn wire. shouldnt be to hard, they are right next to each other under the hood. what do you guys think?

still no ac engaging. is the ac (blue/yel) wire supposed to put out voltage? i hooked a test light up to it and turned it on and no voltage. also, my thermostat has 3 wires going to it. the same two as you guys and a yellow black wire. any clue why the yellow black wire is there?

No. The JDM unit supplies ground to the AC (BLUE/YEL) wire. Try connecting that wire to the body ground and see if your clutch engages. If it does, something's wrong with the JDM unit provided that you installed the evap temp sensor. You need to short the BLUE/YEL wire with the BLUE/RED wire on the thermostat. About the YELLOW/BLACK wire, I have no idea why its there...mine has only 2 wires.

According to the circuit diagram, the YELLOW/BLACK wire supplies a positive, high-current to the AC clutch and it's nowhere near the thermostat (it goes to the compressor clutch relay).

well i read up in the helms and it says this is how it goes...
a blue/blk wire goes to ac switch and outputs a blue/red which goes to thermostat. that turns to blue/yel which goes to control panel. all of this carries a small current. so that blue/yel does have current. i checked it again and yes it does have a small amount of current. im now checking to see if the switch is bad. says something about a green wire, but i dont remember seeing a gren wire...ill update in the morning. all nighter for me. its my birthday!!!

i dunno either, maybe cause mine was a s model or mabye cause it was automatic. who knows. either way i didnt do ish with it. connected the other two together, found out my ac button doesnt work on my unit and also the heater valve solinoid only works at 18 and since my unit works backwards i winded up wiring those two wires to a switch which goes to the ground. guess what. ac kicks in yay for me. my ac fan was broken though so when it started turning it was loose and melted spinning against the radiator. so i took that out. now i just need to find my ac leak and i will have a working climate control. no auto feature yet till i find a way to reverse the air mix motor. i just need some sorta ac for now. need to probably get yet another unit too. one with a working ac button so i can rid the switch. but i now have a working unit that blows cool. yay for me. forbidden, you need to get your ass in gear. need you to figure out the air mix motor. reversing the wires didnt work.

Eureka!!!!!! I found the way to install the air mix motor and FULLY open/close the valve (before, mine would only open/close halfway) without even reversing the wires!!!! It's actually so simple that I was laughing so bad after I made it work So it's official now- 100% functional. So without further adieu here's how I did it:

You need to use the cable from your old UDSM control and install it to the JDM air mix motor. If you notice closely on the pics, you can see that the air mix motor is at the coldest position and that the cable is fully pulled. You also need something to hold the outer sleeve of the cable so that it doesn't move when the motor pushes the inner cable:

With that setup, you can virtually mount the motor anywhere! Your only limitation is the length of the cable, but if you want a longer cable you can also use the cable from your bicycle's brake cable I wish I have a video recording of this in action:

Detailed write up with pics on how to install a 100% functional climate control will soon be up after I'm done with my finals. So stay tuned

So we don't have to bend that metal bracket at all?

Also, I think I am missing something from my unit. It didn't come with the wiring harness that plugs into the Power Transister. I was thinking maybe this is already on our USDM cars? Or do I need to get that harness from somewhere?

no bending/modifications at all. Just install the cable on the air mix motor correctly and....viola!!!

Sweet ass! Now, can you tell me if I need to get that harness to the Power Transister or not?

Mine came with it but I think it's similar to the ones already in our cars.

Scalifludesi: nice! I thought about doing that way too at first. I guess that's what I'll do when I get a JDM air mix motor, pretty soon I hope. Problem is I now have a new toy that I need to put some money on too...
