forget that, i placed an ice bag on top of the sensor but either way the lever only yields about 1 and 1/4 inch of cable when placed at hottest setting, because of the mechanics of the motor.....even if it rotated more it would not feed more cable to open the heater doors further Has anybody solved this problem when using the USDM cable?

Today i installed the blower and the evaporator back in my car after three weeks being out. The JDM unit works awesome, but the A/C still won't engage. Once all this stuff in put back shouldn't the condenser and radiator fans engage even though the freon was emptied?? Or it will not until it's charged again?
I'm thinking i might have hooked a wrong wire or something..

If the system is empty the compressor might not turn on since there's still no pressure in the system and the A/C pressure switch will prevent the compressor to start.

wish i had more time and money to get my AC working. selling the car anyways, so not TOO motivated to fix it, but i think its the reason why alot of people arent buying the car.

when i get my 240, im going to have to do the climate control install in it, so i guess i will give it another try. hehe

oh snap. i just put 2 and 2 together. i was wonderind why my ac button didnt work. jez, what i THOUGHT was my jdm thermostat was really that metal square sensor that goes on the heater box. thats why i couldnt figure out why you guys were putting in in place of the usdm thermostat when its on the heater box on jdm ludes. sooo, ive been thinking this thing was the thermostat, but its NOT! hmmmmm, interesting. i might just have to start this project again. i hate leaving something unfinished. anyone have a picture of the jdm thermostat thing so i can go get one from a junkyard from an acura. i know where its at, just wanna make sure they are the same. wish somebody woulda slapped me when i was talking about that heater box sensor. what help are you guys? :-p

It looks pretty much like 2 wires connected together with some rubber over the tip. I can take a pic though since I have an extra one.

The pic of the evap temp sensor is up: http://www.jrcormier.com/prelude/jdm...l/dcp00693.jpg

I could sell you my extra one but you would get one faster is you went to the junkyard. Just let me know if you want it.

I dont have the male part of the evap sensor.....where do I connect it to? am i supposed to short out the thermostat since it has 3 wires?

but thats not VERY important to me right now, i have never had a working compressor since i bought the car

I actually need to know why my mode control motor quit working ever since I wired and re-installed my blower motor?
all the modes worked fine, now it doesnt move but all 4 fan speeds are awesome....any insight as to whats wrong? bad ground or something?

Can you take a picture of the thermostat? I'm not sure you're looking at the right thing...

There's not much change in the wiring for the mode control motor so it shouldn't just quit like that, maybe a connection that was loose or something...

I'll check tonight if I can find something to help you

the left is my USDM sensor and to the Right is the JDM one,
isnt it just the black covered wire/sensor that is in the evap. unit?

and about my mode controls, Im gonna go re-check the wiring....I keep the same USDM motor for the modes correct? cuz I was also sent a new motor but it WAS working 100% fine w/ the one already on the heater

Your A/C thermostat is nothing like mine, I thought you had the wrong part when you said you had 3 wires but I checked on slhondaparts.com to see what part it was and noticed that there are 2 different A/C thermostat, on the 92 it's the part #33 and on the 94 it's part #32 on these diagrams:

http://www.slhondaparts.com/browse.a...ViewParts=true
http://www.slhondaparts.com/browse.a...ViewParts=true

Anybody has a 94+ helm that could scan the wiring diagrams for that area? So we can find out what's this 3rd wire for.

As for the mode control motor, yes you can keep the USDM motor, that's what I did. I didn't have time to check in my Helm yesterday, I'll try to check tonight.

Well...as far as i remember in this very thread The blu/yel wire from the 20-pin, connects to one of the wires (blu/yel) that used to connect to the USDM thermostat (this wire runs to the A/C pressure switch in the car)

also I remember Caz telling me that all sensors except for the sunlight one are just resistors without polarity, so it won't matter which wire is ground or the other.

So just cut off the connector from the JDM evap. sensor and splice a wire to run to Pin #17 (ground, lt grn/red) in the 20-pin connector and the other to pin #9 (brown) also in the 20-pin connector.

I hope this takes care of your problem...Let me know if you need me to explain this better

Mine is mounted between the steering and the climate control unit like they are on JDM cars, though you have to make a hole in the dash so make sure you won't change your mind afterward.

You can see the hole in these pictures:
