My Clutch

When I checked my reservoir for my clutch the other day, I noticed it was low (I still hadn't filled it since I fixed the last leak). So, I poured some hydraulic fluid in and this black gunk floated up to the top. My clutch also squeaks when I push it in. Any ideas whats up?

If it think black gunk it could just be some build up fluid. The squeak could be from oil dripping on to your clutch or maybe your pressure plate is low causing it to rub metal on metal.

Sounds like you have a leak somewhere. Check the slave cylinder, the area in the firewall where the pushrod from the master comes through, clutch damper, and rubber hose from the damper for leaks

I have noticed that it does leak there. Slowly. I was told that the only thing I can do is replace my master cylinder. Which blows, because I've replaced it many times before. Plus, I lost my receipt for the lifetime warranty.

and the squeak turned out to be coming from inside the slave cylinder. The problems weren't related.
