I have a 93 prelude S w/ a JDM 94 VTEC dropped in, AEM CAI GReddy header, test pipe, A'PEXi N1 exhaust, NGK iridium plugs, accell wires, MSD cap, coil, and SCI, 17" rims, Parada tires, a koni/ground control setup, and running 93 octane. last Saturday, i ran a 15.2 @93mph. I had one of the fastest preludes out there, but a few people have expected more from the car. My question is, is that about right for what i've done, or may there be something wrong with my engine, but not bad enough to see the problem? any suggestions would help, since no one i talk to around here has my hybrid combo to compare against. thanks for the help in advance.
It doesn't sound that fast to me but it could be the track conditions. It is usally good to judge how you are running compared to other car. Say vs a stock vtec prelude. If you a running a bunch faster that them then I would say you are ok.
i have a 93 with a JDM motor(94) im running AEM, DC header, gutted cat, apexi N1, vafc set at zero, and cam gears set at zero, Feul pressure regulator...everything else is stock, im running 14.3@ 98...4bidden is also running mid to low 14's as well...my setup is pretty similar to yours, did u get the full swap? tranny and all? just curious..peace
the temp was about 93 degrees 20? 30%? humidity, yes, i do have a VTEC tranny, my 60' is around 2.4/2.5 (i need to work on my launches). i have raced a 2002 prelude w/ just an intake, and he was about half a second slower than me, and my good friend with everything i have (though it's a '99... i know, all 5gens) has never run his car though i try to get him to. I had the quickest prelude on the track that day, bu none of them had the VTEC and the mods i have so i couldn't compare.
Your launches are hurting you pretty badly. You should be hitting 2.2 or at least 2.3. If you can bring your 60 ft times down, it'll help a bit. The rest is probably the heat.

it all depends on the track and the driver, I ran a 15.1, but that was launching at 6500RPM, any less than that, and it would grip too much, and almost stall, I cant do that on regular streets with my tires, I have to launch at 2500-3000RPM on the streets, so it really depends on track conditions
thanks for the insight. as for the track itself, it's black from rubber. i don't know if that's good or bad. also, i launch at about 3500 to 4g, and dump the clutch, but i also use either the Paradas on 17's (when i don't have time to change tires, cause the track opens right when i get home from work), or some no-name 70 series on 14" rims.
