Damn, since the first day I brought my car ('95 Si) from SA, I started having quite a few problems with it. First, when I got in town the ABS light decides to turn on. I later find out that my ABS modulator died, and it's $1200 just for the new unit alone. So basically, I have no ABS brakes. It's scary to think about when it's raining. Also, my master cylinder is broken which causes my brakes to squeek a lot (even continuosly when traveling over about 40 mph). Also, when I hit over 60 on the highway I smell a foul smell, like burning mixed with a foul odor. Might this be that I'm 6 days past due on an oil change? I doubt it, because I still haven't reached the mileage change. Both of my rear speakers suck, they make this ugly rattling noise. My engine clanks (i think it's the pistons).
The stock radio display decides to not display sometimes, and it flickers from time to time.
And just last night for no particular reason my antenna decides that it no longer wants to go down. My damn antenna is stuck up! When I turn my radio or car off, I can hear the motor working, like it's struggling to bring it down but it wont budge. I tried forcing it down myself but it wont go down. Anyone know how I can maybe solve this problem? I'll feel a lot better. I've always loved the look of how the antenna goes up and down, but now it's stuck up.
My car is still pretty much stock, and there's so much I want to do to it (rims, body kit, shave trunk, wing, Auto to Manual swap, complete sound system etc.) but it sucks that these problems are happening cause I'm having to pay for shhh...stuff that breaks instead of new stuff.
Any help on the antenna situation
will greatly be appreciated. \
Sounds like all normal problems. Screw the airbags and get an aftermarket stearing wheel. Then get a used antenna from a junkyard or ebay, and an Alpine CD player from Circuit ****ty for $250. Then figure out your engine problem which is probably just that it needs some TLC, or a general rebuild. Hang in there it will be OK.
Did you get your car inspected before you bought it? SOUnds like you got nailed. As for ABS, I wouldn't worry about it because you don't see too much snow in TX (I'm assuming) and thats where it really comes in to play. I think it's kicked in once for me in the last year when I had an emergency stop. For the antenna, you have to remove the top nut off (use a screwdriver and hammer if you don't have the honda tool) and then with the radio on, just pull up really hard and the whole unit will come out. Grease it down and make sure its moving and then get a friend to turn the radio off and stick the plastic rod back down in the hole until it gets grabbed by the motor and sucked in. May take a few times and you have to line it up right but hopefully that helps.
OOPS! ABS not SRS, I don't know what the hell I was thinking. Sorry dude. But still go to a junkyard and get used parts for your car. It will save you quite a bit.
You can have my steering wheel... if you can find me an FG 360, like everybody else seems to be able to find...

Anybody want to buy my Lude? (Will sell in either stock or fairly modded trim).
1. take your antenna + motor out, throw it on the
ground jump on it and scream at the top of your lungs
then tape the hole from the inside so rain doesnt get in.
2. Stock speakers are nice but they are easy to blow.
Take em out and curse at the long rip along the outside.
Get a nice new pair of rear 6.5inch speakers.
3. Buy a JDM H22a.
4. If you have functional ac, sell all your ac parts for
mods now cuz it will die soon.
5. Watch as you drain all your money into your car making
it as nice as you picture it in your head now.
These 5 easy steps will lead you to happiness and eternal
peace, er that's what im hopin for.
My ABS light came on once. Turned out it was a relay or something easy to fix. If the modulator ever dies I have no problem ditching the ABS system because there is no way the $1200 is worth it to me.
heh actually my AC is still under warranty for 4 months. But that's cause I spent $1400 on the whole brand new AC system due to it dying about 7 months ago. I guess your prediction was slightly late there.
It's all good though...
Also, is it me or are our stock suspension rides real crappy? My ride is damn bumpy. What can I do about this? Get new springs? I HOPE YOU HONDA ENGINEERS READ THIS so you can learn from your past mistakes!
