multiple issues with 93si w/h22

Hey everyone,

Ok so here are the issues that i am having.
1. temp gauge will not mark up to warm. only marking up on notch.
2. idle roams from 1100 to 2000 when cold. when i drive it for a while it calms down to about 750 to 1200.
i already cleaned my IACV and it helped a little. I'm going to assume if the thermostat was dead i wouldn't be able to drive for to long without the car overheating.
3. abs light is on? i tried stopping hard on them and they did lock on me so what should i do.

any suggestions?

Fast Idle valve needs to be adjusted, with a quick google search on it you should be able to fix the idle. ABS, IMO, invented for those who can't drive and are real squirrely with the brakes, learn to downshift and you wont need ABS. If you really want to fix it though jump the service check connector to get the code, it's a 2 wire blue plug behind the radio. You can usually pull the connector out without taking anything apart if you reach behind there where there's kinda a tunnel connecting the driver and passenger sides on the floor. Get a Helms manual for the car, it'll help you a lot.

I haven't had any problems with mine other than the cluster totally taking a dump from old age, it's been replaced. Most likely a bad sensor, this pic shows where the temp gauge sensor is located.

i fixed the idle it was a very dirty fast idle valve under the throttle body. i cleaned it up real nice and over tightend it and i was idling at 500 then i fixed it back up to 750ish. next i need to tackle that temp gauge. i bought a new thermostat and coolant temp sensor however my hands are still frozen. i might have to take it somewhere lol. thanks for the help.

I wouldn't have jumped so quickly on buying a thermostat but it could be useful to have a spare on hand. The temp gauge sensor shouldn't take more than a few minutes to change, I wouldn't waste the money on paying someone to change it. Oh and hopefully you bled the coolant after doing all these things.
