Mugen Wing - Worth it or not?

I currently have an oem rear spoiler on my car.

I have the chance to get a genuine Mugen rear wing for a good price. Do you all think I should make the swap or stick with the OEM?

The dealer I can get it from told me that they are normally attached with double sided tape! Does anyone know of any really strong tape that wont allow it to fall off at speed?? It also has to be possible to remove it again later without damaging the paint work if possibe - as when I eventually sell the car - (no plans to do so for a long time!) I want to remove the Mugen wing and sell it seperately.

Cheers

Held on with TAPE? I highly doubt it...maybe there is some tape in addition to the bolts or something, but I don't see how the entire thing could be held on with only tape.

do it, if you change your mind there will be like 2935723958723490872349082374 other people that will pay a lot more than you did for it.

That's what I thought. This guy has taken a few off JDM ludes though and says the tapes so strong that you can dent the bootlid when removing it if your not careful. If I decide to get it - it will get shipped to my parents place then they will bring to my place(overseas) in January - so I won't know for sure until then if there are additional bolt holes - unless someone here knows.

Don't really want to say how much I'm getting it for or where I'm getting it from - I know these things are like rocking horse ---@!

If I hear of anymore available in the future I will obviously post the details.

I just looked at 3M's site for adhesive tape - I' d be so nervous of it just flying off at 100+ though....

Use r/c tape - any hobby store should have it. I used it to put up posters on my wall and I have to be careful about removing it as it can take the dry wall with it sometimes!!

Cheers!

Unless you got a reaaaally good deal I wouldn't bother. Their nice, but as always overpriced. Also, if you do grab it and it does affix by tape, know that in all likelihood there will be a good outline of it on the trunk when you decide to take it off and sell it. You see it all the time with things like sunroof deflectors - usually the paint is darker underneath and there is often a permanent water mark around them. Mugen wing covers a lot of space so you may have to repaint your trunk if/when you take it off.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I will buy it and deal with the attachment issue at that time. I post some pics in January.

When compared to the price this company is selling them for (approx 1,386.75 USD inc EC tax!!!) I got an incredible deal.

If I gave you the money, could you "pick one up" for me too?

Post the ones that you have too. Here's the pics I have:

I found this picture of a 3rd gen Mugen wing with what looks like double-sided tape to hold it on!

The mugen prelude has the same old skool mugen rims that where on ebay a wile back. I still am a fan of the mugen wing along with stock or no wing.

Thanks CDR_UK

The only pics I had of the wing were the ones you posted on the green and red ludes. That wing looks awesome on that white car. Such as hard decision...gotta keep saving my pennies
