Mugen Chipped Ecu on Stock Jdm H22a?
so some guy is offering to trade his mugen chipped ecu with h22a fuel map for my virgin p28 ecu and 50$
i read that theres no point in getting a chipped ecu if you didnt upgrade anything, cams, injectors, etcs
all i have is a Jdm h22a with dc headers and a no brand short ram intake and underpulleys.
would the ecu even do anything? or am i just wasting my time and money

I don't think so. His ecu will be tuned for his mods and engine.

Okay, after doing some research, I've found that he probably wants your ecu because the Mugen chip is causing his car to run like ass.
Apparantly, the Mugen chip is not meant for lightly modified street cars.
(if it is, in fact, an authentic Mugen chip. I bet it isn't.)

It's not a real mugen chipped ecu. No one would sell it for $50 if it was real.

^^Huh?? I'm so confused.. Anyways..
A REAL Mugen ECU is going to cost way more than $50 + Stock ECU.
What he's selling it probably an eBay Chipped ECU. «-- BAD IDEA
The stock Tach is said to be in-accurate. So it you might not being revving to where you think..

Decent name brand aftermarket tach? I dunno, ton of brands..
Just wouldn't recommend eBay off-brands..
Hs can handle it if they're built for it.. But some people do rev theirs out to 8,200 RPMs on the track and stuff...

Here's your "mugen chip":
Mugen Race tuned ECU chip Honda Prelude VTEC H22a - eBay (item 250385802839 end time Apr-06-09 17:26:16 PDT)
Quote:
- VTEC point lowered to 5500rpm
- Rev limit raised to 9200rpm
- Optimized fuel maps
- More aggressive ignition maps
Too bad stock VTEC engagement is 5200 RPM. Thats probably the same garbage he has.
So now that you know he's full of ****, do you still not think he's trying to rip you off? Maybe you should buy it and post a thread about how your car doesn't run right / exploded / he ran off with your money.

You never said you weren't going to get it. Just a post that made no sense at all and another asking about a new tach
Deep down inside, you know you want to pony up those $50

That's not an ECU, just a crappy VTEC controller and a shameless FS plug

Actually there used to be real Dinan Ecu's, I would love one just as a collectors item.

G_Loc, do you not see the ECU behind the VTEC Controller?
I know Spoon ECU's exist, but I'm not sure about a Mugen one either.
