mufflers

If I wanted to replace my stock muffler with a freer flowing one, do I need to weld or can it be a bolt on. Also, is it possible to later add the cat back component to the new muffler? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for deep sound and max power. Thanks

to answer your first question.....weld..next question....you can go to any muffler shop and they'll add that cat-back pipe, and if it's too short, they'll just add a little piece to make it connect...and the next question....i think the best brands of mufflers for the lude is tanabe, and greddy...other people like the apex...but i kinda don't...hope it helped!

If you're going to just get another muffler... then do it but make sure you get it flanged... basically so that it can be bolted on and off. I would avoid the welding route... and yes... you can later change all the piping later down the road too.

What would give you the deepest sound? I hate all of the rice boys that have loud farty mufflers. I am also thinking dual exhaust (y pipe) for my BW rear bumper. What would be the best for me? right now i have an OBX with the biggest resonator as possible, and it is still kinda loud. Do some mufflers add more power than others? if so which adds the most?

Are there some mufflers that are bolt ons and others that are not? How can you tell? I would definetely prefer a bolt on, if anyone has done bolt on could you tell me how you did it. Thanks in advance

one that will bolt on will be made specifically for your car, an axel back exhaust i belive... And no universal mufflers sound good...
