Motor took a crap....

Well.. after 250K miles, my F22a SOHC decided to have a funky crank shaft jiggle that caused the pulley bolt, pulley & KeyWay to get ALL Fawked up. everything is stripped like a fawkn champ... even stripped the teething on the crank shaft.

But anywho... I'm getting an JDM F22b DOHC non-vtec. The Mechanic working on the car said I could use the same ECU from the F22a, Same intake & exhaust mani's.
Does anyone know if this is true???

Motor is getting new seals, T-belt, & pump. If ANY of this would need to get replaced.. what would I buy?? F22b parts (if I can find them); H23 parts (if they would fit)??

Would my DC exhaust mani still fit?? the F22a is a 2.2L & so is the F22b.

He also told me since it's JDM it would have an internal coil, which I knew, so he said to keep it from frying.. he is going to adjust the spacing on the plugs to keep the coil safe.
If the internal coil were to go out.... could I use a coil from another Interal model?? like TypeR or something??....
Does the T-belt on an H23 & F22b have the same amount of teeth or spaces??

So many Q's.. haha sorry.

Help would be great apppppreciiateeed!

C.

Exhaust manifolds should be the same. From what I understand, it's basically a f-series bottom end with an h23 head. Might be wrong, but that's what I've read.

Ahh coo.. thanks for the info. You got any more info on this motor??

H23 belt is to long ??

what about the valve cover seal?

would the motor run better with the F22a intake manifold ??
or the F22b (which has secondaries inside the manifold) intake manifold??

I'm not for sure, but I think the f22b uses an h23 head, so you should be able to use the h23 valve cover seal. Can someone verify this?

valve covers are identicle. the head is actually a little different though. The block has an 85mm bore, so the combustion chamber is set up different on that part of the head, but most of the parts are the same. I ran one for about 2 years before i got my h22, i used a p14 ecu, and had a cel for the knock sensor the whole time. but it was reliable.

I'll put in something....

F22B does have the H23A1 head. MOST H23 and F22B parts are interchangable - it's a great swap

I have the P14 ECU too, and I am running rich. Ever since I ran some fuel injection cleaner it's been backfiring like a mofo, but lots of power.
