Money to spend, questions to ask...

My H23A crapped out a week or so ago and I am at a loss as to what to do. I have 3K or so to spend and I was thinking of doing the swap to the JDM H22A Vtech, but I am a bit scared.

I just pulled my H23A so now the choice is upon me. Do I rebuild my H23A, or do the swap. Keep in mind that I drive between 120 and 140 miles at least 5 days a week, so I want something dependable but with nice power.

If I could ever get ahold of the guy at www.hondamotorsonline.com then I would probably do the swap, but I havnt been able to get into contact with him yet and I am growing impatient. I found a local guy that can get me the complete swap minus the tranny and axels for 1900 which doesnt seem bad, but lack of experience scares the hell outta me.

I have used the search feature and looked for all the write-ups on the swap, can anyone clarify exactly what I will need to buy that is not included with the complete swap, and if I can do it myself with basic mechanic skills and wiring.

Everyones advice is welcome and appreciated.

VTEC first of all, 2nd it is an easy swap and you should definately do the h22 swap for 1900 unless your h23 tranny is crap you should probably keep it to save some money, the difference between the h23 and h22 tranny is almost negligible.

Well, if I spend 1900 on the H22A, I should have enough for a tranny if needed. Anyone care to tell me the difference between the H23A tranny, H22A tranny and LSD tranny.

I have no clue at all what a LSD tranny is. Also, if anyone has purchased the full swap from www.hondamotorsonline.com, can you tell me if it comes with everything, such as alternator, ac, distributor, etc... I have heard that the distributor from a H23A will not work for a JDM H22A, can anyone verify that?

Info on how differentials work: http://www.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm

Basically LSD allows you to still put power down even though one wheel is spinning..which is a good thing, especially at the track..,

H23 and H22 trannies have similar gear ratios,4th gen H22 and 4th gen H22 w/ LSD trannies have the same ratios
