Momo shift boot

My momo shift boot came today and i having problems. I got the shift knob off and old boot, but how does this one go on. It seems too large. It has that elastic bottom. The performance model. Anyone have experience with shift boots?

30min later i got the boot and knob on connected to eachother but now i still don't know what to do with the bottom of the boot. Do i take that plastic peice of the shifter ring, the one that is stapled into the console? Or do i somehow tuck the elastic between?

i dunno if this is the right way or not but i CAREFULLY took the staples out of the plastic, cut the elastic off my boot.. and then put the new boot on just like the oem boot was... with the staples i took out... it worked but there may be an easier way

Sounds like a good idea, how did you get the staples back in?

when i took them out i just straightened them the best i could so theyd fit back in the holes. then i just poked them thru the boot....my boot was a think cheaper one u might have to us sumthing sharper to make a hole thru the momo boots cuz i recall them being kinda thick

Well i finally finished it today. Looks like it came that way, thanks for the tips. The momo was a little stuff to work with but it paid off. Also that black rubber peice was the biggest pain because the staples wouldn't go through at first and the piece wouldn't mold back into its shape. Anyway it took about 45min total to do and i've very happy with it. thanks
