Molding in 3pc mid wing- good idea?

What do you guys think about me getting the small side pieces of my 3pc mid wing molded in to the rear fenders (side of trunk area). Since it's a replica wing, my friend is also gonna expand the fiber glass to the sides of the mid piece so that there wont be as much of a gap in between the pieces, and then smoothen it all out to make it look like an original wings west. He's only charging 20$ to do this, and I've seen the molding work he does. I'm sure he can pull this off...

But do you think this is a good idea in general? Or can anyone think of a reason or two why this wouldnt be a good idea?

I heard that when you mold some things (body kits etc) in a climate where the temp goes up and down (like here goes to -40 celcius in winter and 35 max probably in summer) so tahts -40F to +100F , that the expansion will crack the molding between the seams..

But if he does good quality work and it'll look better for 20bux .. what about paint? ... I say why not ..

Well I wont have to worry about that, I live in south texas. It's always hot and rarely gets below 40F on the winter.

As far as paint, factory code paint of course. 60$ for a quart of it. He's also going to be painting it for me.

What I want to see done with the 3 pc. wing is have it molded to 1 piece. If done right, it can work, and IMO would look REALLY good. The main thing I don't like about the 3 pc. wing is the huge gaps between the pieces.

I had the same idea but, I was thinking about the complications when trying to remove the tail light. I know you only get to remove the tail light not too often but it gets hard trying to take the tail light with the 3 piece wing on it, let alone have the molded

Molded into one piece? As in the side pieces would come up with the trunk like the mid thruster wing? Also, only the replica 3pc wing (like mine) has the huge gaps in between. You get what you pay for, and for me that was 160$ shipped brand new. Now the original Wings West 3 pc wing fits nicely, like the 3000GT factory wing. The gap is hardly noticeable.

I stopped by my friend's house tonight, and he finished molding one side, it came out really good. He had no trouble taking the tail lights off. He decided to surprise me and fill in the immense gap in between the pieces cause he said it was bothering him a lot. He added on fiberglass to the sides of the center piece of the wing, and now it's looking just like the wings west wing. Before it was about a 3/4 an inch gap, and now I could barely fit a quater in between the gap. I'll post pics when he's done with it tomorrow.
