I don't think the water is related to your problem. I think the water just came from rain, or washing the car, or pretty much anything else. If there was water in your cylinder, you would have blown a piston, or it would have just evaporated. If you were leaking coolant from the head gasket and burning it, you would see lots of white smoke. When troublshooting these types of problems, it is always important to remember that combustion requires fuel, air and spark. First check all of your ignition components (wires, plugs, distributor, coil). next, check your fuel (clogged injectors, injector resistor, fuel pressure, water in the fuel) and finally (and least likely) check your air supply. Check to see if your computer is throwing any codes. If it is not, then you can rule out the problems that would throw codes. Again, I do think that the water you found is coincidental.
