MISHIMOTO Radiator

Hi, guys.

I have a 92 prelude Si with a 97+ h22a(black top). The radiator is leaking so I am going to buy the MISHIMOTO radiator on web, but I'm not sure which
model of radiator should fit for my 92 lude with 97+ engine. 92-96 or 97-01??
Are they the same? Anyone have done this before? Any suggestion?

=P

You need a radiator for 92-96 since it needs to match the lower radiator mount points on your chassis.

Great, that's what i'm thinking, just make sure it fits. Thanks for the reply.
Any important detail of installation will be helpful.

Installation is pretty straightforward. Remove lower hose and drain old coolant into a catch-pan. Remove top hose. Unbolt radiator stays at the top. Disconnect plugs for the fans. Lift out old radiator.

Reverse process for install and then follow the Helms procedure for ensuring there is no air in the cooling system when you refill it with coolant.

WARNING:
I have just purchased the mishimoto 92-96 radiator.
It does NOT fit.
The bottom hits the cross member and its a little too wide.
I Am contacting the company Monday,
Without sawing into the cross member it wont fit.

It was a 92-96 Prelude Mishimoto Rad
Its not just the fans its the bolt spots and the bottom hose for fluid hitting the cross member.
I had it 95% in, it just wont fit right.
There are no write ups or examples of people doing install on 92-96 i could find on the "NET"
cIFER im suprised you got it in, I was tryin stock fans, and it is a different radiator

i wish i had pictures. my bolt holes did not line, i do not believe. i can not prove this, or have not proved it yet, but i am willing to bet the fan bolt hole for s, si and vtec model is different. i think a couple of the models are the same but which ones would be the question.

Hey man, did you ever contact Mishimoto about the issue you were experiencing and get everything resolved? I have dealt with them in the past and their customer service is top notch. I know they offer a lifetime warranty as well.

I called them on the weekend. Left a message telling of the problem, Haven't heard back don't have time. Had to send back to amazon. Now I have another one that has these extra two copper tubes coming from the bottom. These are for AT Trans I assume?
Is this ok to run on MT they advertised it as both for AT AND MT ????

Aftermarket radiators are usually a pretty big waste of money unless your engine bay has just about everything removed from it and the car is used for nothing but off road purposes. On top of that all of the good headers wouldn't fit with such a thick radiator and would make working on the car more difficult as you would have less space.

Many radiators have the nipples on the bottom, it's the transmission cooler, no coolant goes through there, only ATF and can be used on a manual without any issues.
