misfiring in low rpm

my fourth gen prelude is misfiring. . its wierd because it only happensin the low rpm and when it hits about 3000 rmp its fine. ex: at idle its fine then when i give it gas it hesitates, then after 3000 rpm its fine. . it only happens when i start to accelerate. . the car is manual 2.2 vtec. if anyone has a clue as to what is goin on let me know thanks

i also thought it was the distibutor. . so i changed it and it still kept doing it. . its not the distributor. . my friend tells me its the throttle positioning sensor (tps) so im going to try and replace that this week. . see what happens.

That's most likely the problem, if not... good luck, this low RPM range hesitation issue has stumped dozens of people

My japanese import BB4 does this, but not all the time.
It seems to only do it once warmed as it never does it when cold.
New plugs, cap, etc have been fitted and still the same.
