misfiring

well latly i have had extreamly bad gasmilage like 15mpg and a decrease in performance. did the basic tune up cap rotor wires plugs, tested the coil it was bad changed that. still **** milage. go to check my timing and from the timing light it is missing about every 10 fire. i know the light is good and was wondering what all you think may cause this.

she runs smooth as a babys ass though.

by the way it is an h22

Question: When you checked the timing, was the timing okay or was it retarded/advance from its mark?

well.. if it was me... I would first try this if you havn't done so yet:

1) start up the car and let it warm up to normal operating temperature

2) Disconnect one end of the spark plug wire of the #1 cylinder and look for any changes of the motor behavior. If the motor starts to run rougher/worst than its current's state, than that cylinder is okay. Repeat this step for the 3 remaining cylinders.

what you are trying to do is pinpoint which cylinder may have a problem. You know you have a problem with a cylinder when you disconnect the spark plug wire off one cylinder, and it didn't make the motor run worst than before.

TDC sensor?... errr... I think that would be irrelevent to a misfire... have you changed your fuel filter yet?....
