Mechanical/Electrical Issue-Need Help!

While driving today, I noticed a vibration that shook my steering wheel as if i had a flat tire or if my wheels weren't tightened down enough. I pulled over and investigate but nothing. I started the car up and drove and to my surprise the problem didnt occur again at that point after restarting the car. About 10 minutes later it did the same thing. So while coasting in neutral, I turned the car off and then back on and the problem went away. Its weird. Could this be a bad misfiring issue? or possibly still a mechanical issue as I first thought? (but turning a car off and then back on wouldnt get rid of a mechanical problem). I wonder why it was make my car feel like I had a flat tire, but I do have stiff motor mounts. Any suggestions?

so when driving its fine i.e. coasting .. but when you put the pedal down to accelerate it vibrates or shimmys really bad correct? if it only does it while accelerating then it sounds to me like a cv joint (proly driver side since you said it was bad) replace your half shaft.. next time it happens just put the car in neutral but dont turn it off try even reving the engine a bit to see if it does it in neutral with a higher rpm.. if it goes away while in neutral even with the rpms higher than idle then its most likely a cv joint

i forgot to add when it happens try accelerating a little more and listen to it.. if the knocking noise increases with your speed its even more likely a cv joint

Ok, it happened again not too long ago. I threw it in neutral and coasted down the road and the engine seems to be idling fine, no bad misfiring. So I turned it off again then back on while coasting in neutral, and the problem didnt go away. So, I'm thinking something undercar. CV shaft is a suggestion, and suspension. Has anyone ever had this problem happen to them before??
