I tried starting my car this morning, and it would not start. The Check Engine light came on, so I checked the code and it was giving me 5, MAP sensor mechanical fault. Honda Automotive Parts does not list this anywhere that I can find, and I called my local Honda Dealer and they want $273 for a replacement one. Is there any other place I can find one, or will one from an Accord or other Honda fit? I saw this one on ebay that looks just like it96 Accord MAP Sensor does anyone think that one will fit?. I have a H23A engine by the way, and it only has 56k miles, thanx for any help.
I have a map sensor I pulled of a 95 H23 at a junkyard. I do not 100% sure of the condition as I just grabbed it. Just an option. 25 bux and it is yours.
yeah I threw it in my pocket they were raping me on other prices. So I did them justice. You said you want the damn harness well that has become like extinct now. Your gages are here and all pretty too. That map has been here in my garage forever so 25 plus say 5 for shipping to who ever.
Ill take it if u can get it to me by this wednesday, as I am leaving for carsisle on Thurs, Ill pay a lil extra for fast shipping, and I can send the money via paypal, thanx alot
and 4bidden, i double and triple checked everything, took out the sensor to make sure there was no physical damange and blew some air into it to make sure there was nothing clogged inside.
I still have a hard time believing your MAP just took a 5hit like that though. Go ahead and try a new one, but rest assured that I'll be the first one to say told ya so if it doesnt work.
It works periodically, like sometimes I will be able to start the car and it will run for a couple days, then sometimes the engine will just shut off while Im at a stop light, then after awhile it will start back up again if Im lucky.
