Manual fan switch

Im having problems with my fans, they never turn on, dont know what the problem is. fuses and relay are good, and the fan works when i hook it up straight to the battery.

so i thought about putting a manual switch for the fans. hook it directly to the battery and put a switch in between one of the wires to turn it on and off. Is there anything wrong with doing this? will it have any harm to the car, battery or fans? is there anything else that i need like relays or fuses or circuit breakers in between?

btw, i searched and couldnt find anything that would help.
Thanks

its a good temporary fix till you find the problem...

i suggest using a relay instead of routing all the power the fan is drawing through a switch.

Lot's of people do this for the drags. Put thier fans on a manual switch so that they can cool thier cars between runs. And there's nothing wrong with it as long as you don't forget to turn it off! It's very easy to drain your battery with just the fan. And I'd suggest putting an inline fuse just in case.

I hooked up one of my fan directly to the battery and control it by a switch from the interior, just temporarily though until i get it checked out, but I dont turn it on that much. Im just too busy with freakin exams right now to do anything.
