Major oil leak (I have an idea what the problem is)

So I was driving on the freeway two nights ago then all of sudden my car starts smoking (white smoke). So I went back home, parked the car. I look under the hood to see white smoke coming up from behind the block..it was even going in through the AC vents inside the car.

I took it to Xpress Lube since they had changed my oil 4 days before that to find out that my oil had completely drained out. A guy there checked it out for me and saw that the oil was coming out from the oil cooler/o-ring area. I bought a new o-ring, he put it in, and after driving for a while the pressure popped it out of place again, so major leakage again.

The guy at Xpress Lube thinks the Oil Cooler part (which is about 300$) itself warped and is causing the O-ring to pop out of place. I took it to a good honda mechanic and he said it's rare that the oil cooler part goes bad, and it could be that the guy from Xpress Lube put the O-ring in wrong. So I'm going to buy another O-ring from the dealer and have the honda mechanic put it back in.

What are the chances that I'm going to need a replacement oil cooler? Might it just be the o-ring that needs to be replaced again? Thanks in advance.

When I changed my O-ring the 1st time it wasn't seated right so it leaked. All I had to do was take the oil cooler off again and replace the O-ring. You can do it yourself but it is hard to get the O-ring to stay when you try to put the oil cooler back on. A good tip is get a little vaseline and rub it on the O-ring before installing it. It will help to keep it in place when putting the cooler back into place.

I had the mechanic do it and that seems to have been the problem. I hope it sits in place this time. I already left like 3 oil trail stains around my apt complex, and it's funny cause it leads to my parking space, dont need another trail hahah.

I'm glad my oil cooler was fine.
