The engine is clattering, at 2500 rpm. I have adjusted valve lash and the clatter still in there not bad only around 2500 then stops as RPM gets higher. Do I need to change a rod, or Main bearing ?

If a bearing let go, then you would see evidence of this in your oil pan. I would pull the oil pan and look for any shavings/pieces.
