Lude Totalled.. Should i buy back??

The prelude got totalled last weekend out at Carlisle, PA at the big import show. i saw a few other people in preludes that drove past so if you saw a hemmed up white 4th gen on the side of the road on friday that was me. I was just wonering what you all thought about wether or not i should buy the car back and try to part it out.. it has brand new (all within a week of the wreck) bridgestone potenza RE730's, EBC Green Stuff pads, KVR cross drilled rotors, it also had a year old thermal R&D cat-back and a AEM CAI.

here are some pics of the carnage... a girl in an eclipse in front of me stopped real fast, i stopped, and a guy in a F-150 hit me from behind and pushed me into the girl in front of me.... of course this all happened 20 min after registering my car for the show..

Hey sorry to hear about the accident, but if you do decide to keep it I need a couple of parts, like the center console around the radio and a piece of the roof. So let us know what you decide to do.

damn, that sucks.

it's not worth it to buy it back for those few parts. i guess depending on what insurance will sell it to you for.

but just goto the yard and rip off the cai and some other things. i'm sure the yard will let you know.

let me know if you're int he market for another 4g lude. my vtec is for sale.

I say let the insurance pay you, and you can buy the one that I have for sale in the "for sale Forum". Seriously though, I know what it's like to lose a Prelude in an accident. I was sideswiped by an 18wheeler. My car was instant toast.

thanks guys. thankfully there was no injuries and it was just me in the car. the insurance company is giving me $7300 for the car. im very pleased with that amt. I paid 7500 for the car almost 2 years ago and it had 132K miles. I hate to say it but i think im jumping ship and buying a 1st gen DSM. i know of one that is already all build (and built good) that runs mid 12's. If i have enough left over from the insurance check ill most likely buy it back and dissassemble it at my buddy's garage. Ill let you all know when the parts will be available. Thanks a lot guys, one of the best parts of owning a prelude was the comarederie between owners and the vast amt. of support from people like all of you on these message boards. -Mike
