loss of power after the JDM swap..help

OK so the swap is in, the engine/tranny from Hmotors was clean and started up on the first try. The car purs like a kitten at idle however on the few test runs I have taken it feels like it just looses power at 6500rpm.

I have no CEL's showing up, and I also swapped in the ECU and ran all the proper Vtec wires. I will admit I could only find ECU PNS for 1 of the slots, I could not find a Pin small enough for the 2nd(D4) slot so I did the old twist and Jam method. This thing just feels like it looses major power after 6500 RPM and if I'm right that's when the stock vtech should kick in. Compression test shows this engine to be in top shape.. Any ideas?

Not sure if I can help the actual problem but stock VTEC should kick in at around ~5250RPMS. Good luck with it though.

I thought if I had wired the VTEC worng I'd get some kind of CEL. IS there anyway to test it? I do notice after hard runs my A/F goes way rich

vtec solenoid? though you would prolly get a cel for that.

make sure the oil level is up (has a lot to do with vtec, not enough oil = no vtec).

make sure all your ignition and crap is hooked up right.

if thats not it, than go recheck your wiring, using the proper pins this time around

till something breaks, bottom line, they weren't meant for each other, like Burt and Lonnie.

Machine, I have nothing to offer, but I've read enough threads like this to know that the people posting rechecked the wiring and the problem was solved. Good luck and let us know.

Put some miles on her.
Both of my engines were sluggish after the swap. But after a few weeks she felt better. Maby run some octain booster. The injectors take some time i believe.

So far im going to say h22a>h23vtec . But thats only because mine only lasted 400 miles. Im going to be trying again with a new bottom end most likely next week.
