Looking for 4th Gen

I am looking for a 4th gen and was wondering what year/model would be best for my $. I was thinking 94 vtec. What would you guys reccomend? S, SI, VTeC 92-96? What are the advantages of each? How much should I expect to pay Canadian or US $

Ok I'll try to give a quick overview.

VTEC's are the "best", but they are incredibly rare and only made from 93-96. They have the H22A1 motor with ~190 Hp. 4th Gen VTEC's are capable of 14's stock in the 1/4 mile.

The Si's are the middle ground. They have the H23A1 engine with 160 Hp. They can run mid 15's in the 1/4 mile stock.

The S is the lowest. It has an F22 motor that is SOHC. It has 130 Hp and runs 16+ in the 1/4 mile.

Also keep in mind, the H23A1 is a very good motor for Turbo, it has the most torque, and the most displacement.

Another thing, 96 'Ludes have something called OBD-2. I could go on explaining, but that's for you to learn. Anyway, it's bad, you'll want a 92-95.

i agree with what epdarks said...
if you get an Si or VTEC you will not be disappointed, make sure you get a stick though. good luck on your search, and make sure that you get the one that you want exactly!

Sup man?? I just got a 92 Si and I LOVE it. The H23 is a great engine. Even with 155K miles on it it still impresses me. The low end torque is nice. I would like to swap a H22 in it but I am not sure if the difference is worth it. We will see I guess.
I got the 4 Wheel Steering version. ABSOLUTELY awesome. It is a different driving experience. Now I can't wait to get it out on the track.

Good luck man.

Cool guys. That confirms what I was thinking. I guess I will probably try to get a vtec or si, whichever is in best condition and low km. Where is the best place to look for after market parts for prelude? Who sells the best ground effects and body kits?

Thanks

i would recommend looking in the classified ads in your area and the online searches such as autotrader.com and the classifieds on yahoo. i started searching for my prelude at the beginning of summer and i had to find something cheaper than $7000....and i found my '94 prelude si on yahoo after a 4 week search and it was within 60 miles of my house. just give it time to find the best deal....good luck on your search.
