LOOK WHAT I FOUND (stock alarm?) - Honda Prelude Forum

I was not aware of a factory alarm available for our 4th gens... but today when I had my drivers seat out, I found this on the bottom of it! I dont know if you can read it, but it says HONDA right on it, and has sensitivity adjustment, and a switch for siren/horn....

It also has a little antenna, so there must have been a remote!?
On the side there is a connector, but there was no harness that would fit into it under the seat, in fact I have not seen one for it anywhere in the car, maybe I will have to fo some searching...

anyone know if this was an option for our 4th gens? where the harness would run? Anything at all about this alarm? know anyone with one?
BTW, my ride is a 93 vtec.

When I bought my 93si, the previous owner said the alarm was factory, but the remote says "mirage" on it. Who knows if it was really factory or what. I will go look under my seat though and see if i have one of those...

Nope, mine is stashed up under the dash. It dosent say honda.

That is a "genuine" Honda security system. It looks identical to the 5G alarm, the install manual can be seen here. I'm not familiar with the 4G alarm, I'd like to see the install instructions. In any event you're gonna need to get a harness and remote which ain't gonna be easy. You might be able to get a remote at remotesunlimited.com. It will probably be cheaper to have a Viper 300ESP put in and definitely more secure if optioned right and installed well. If you have no luck take it out and ebay it.
