They're both the Euro R motor, the intake manifold is what gives it away. Why buy one though unless your keeping it stock?

how can you tell from the manifold? i want to know so i can discern the difference myself in the future. and i probably would keep it stock i mean the reason you pay the extra 1500 is for the tranny really, but will the euro r tranny bold up to the jdm h22a? i dont think the type s will but will the euro r?

Look at my sig, my car has a JDM black top H22a but using the Euro R trans and the superior Euro R manifold. The differences in the manifolds is that all other H22a's come with a manifold that has a Intake Air Bypass system that has a single sensor and vacuum to control the amount of air flowing through the runners to increase torque at low RPM's. The Euro R is closer to a performance manifold with a narrow plenum and shorter/straighter runners, this is considered the best N/A intake mani for the engine, you just have to modify it and get a tune to run it on a normal H22a.

The Type S transmission WILL NOT work with any other H22a other than ones that came in a Type S or Type SH as ATTS transmissions are only compatible with ATTS blocks. I also don't believe that you can put a engine/trans that uses ATTS in a 4g anyway and I don't know why anyone would want to.

Like I was also referring to before, the only way IMO that the Euro R motor is worth all that extra money is if I was doing a Euro R conversion to a 98-02 Accord. This is because the motor only has more output stock, if you went all motor with a Euro R and regular H22 the Euro R wouldn't make any more power in the end. It's just a slightly beefed up H22a and essentially the same engine.
