My Prelude is currently undergoing some MAJOR restoration/upgrades and (because of limited budget)probably wont be drivable again for almost a year!
I have been searching craigslist for another Prelude for cheap to buy until mine is done, but can't seem to find anything in my price range at the moment.
Looks like I'm gonna be stuck driving my Eclipse for awhile... sigh...
Anyways...
Just curious as to the longest everyone has went without being able to drive your Prelude? (for whatever reason)
6 months (8 bent valves from previous owner, got the whole head redone+money was an issue, so it took longer), then after a month of driving it, then another 3 months down (Previous owner put the crank bolt in crooked, which in return made my crank pulley start to woble, so i went to take it off to replace it, and my bolt broke in half inside my crank. we had to dremil that bad boy out... and again money was an issue, so it took a little longer than it should had) BUT shes good now, just got new axles, new tires, shes sexy. haha

Only been a little over a month for me but it should be done in a couple of weeks. All panels, interior, glass, trim, molding and weather stripping removed, rusty metal cut out from roof around windshield and new metal welded in, can never tell it was there, antenna shaved, all dents and dings fixed, ready to see its first coat of New Formula Red. New carpet on the way, interior is in my garage for serious cleaning, it's driving me nuts not having it.

6 months ....... then after a month of driving it, then another 3 months down
I know exactly what you mean. The first 6 months or so I had mine it always seemed to have something wrong with it. Fix something, something breaks, fix it, something else wrong, and so on...
Glad ya got her running good now though!
4 years. Had a 95 Prelude SE 5spd. Moved to TN 3 years. Came back broken into. Then a year later someone hit my parked Prelude in my freaking yard. Gave it away. Got another Prelude, 95 Si. Currently atm doing H22a swap.
I went a couple of two year spans just because I want to preserve my Prelude. Right now I drive it but it's not a daily driver. If you follow the correct steps for storing your Prelude they will start right up whenever you're ready for them. The last time my Lude wasn't driven for 2 years, I popped in a new battery and it started right up.
