this technically, is not a heads up, 'cause the auction has ended... but this guy listed the bumper as a JDM BB1 bumper, but says it's for a 91 Prelude. Dunno if that's why it only bid up to $10.50, or because he wanted $130 to ship to a residence/$85 to a business. I searched around, but couldn't find a definitive answer: are JDM bumpers actually lighter than USDM bumpers?
yea and dont worry, JDM prelude also have square plates like the USDM ones so that black plate holder is def from a JDM prelude
the JDM bumper isnt lighter, the front is bc they dont have the front bumper support like the USDM ones do. which you can remove yourself and say you have a JDM front bumper also if you really wanted to and save the 10.50 to buy a real JDM bumper
The JDM ludes still have a bumper support but it just isnt as big and thick as the USDM counterpart. They had to beef it up to meet US crash standards.
QV, but in that pic your bumper is off while you remove the resonator, so that support is actually on the car, right? So more yays than nays, I'm assuming then that the JDM bumper is lighter?
About the 91 thing, It may have been, since in Japan they go by the year of manufacturing... ie, the car was built in 91 so it's a 91... even though we know it as a 92...

The JDM bumper is identical to the USDM bumper. The only thing that makes the front of the JDM lighter is the fact that JDM ludes have a smaller and thinner bumper support.

yep, the 4th gen prelude over there was from 91-95. the 5th gen was from 96-02
weird, lol, i still think it might've been a listing mistake, considering the people bidding are from the N. America, and to them a BB1 is 92-96, but on the other hand, if you have a BB1/BB2/BB4, then you know what your bumper looks like, ergo, you know that bumper will fit your car. Ahh well, another useless thread actually gains some substance, thanks for the info people.
