light problem - Honda Prelude Forum

I've got a intermittent problem with the lights on my prelude.
Its only happened a few times both when on the motorway at night which is a bit scary. The lights will just switch off and i have to turn the light stalk a few times and they will come back on. Is it the stalk that need replacing or could there be something else causing this to happen? I can't seem to replicate this fault no matter how may times i turn the lights on and off.

I'd guess that the switch is going out.

Check the fuse/relay or whatever there is for your interior lights and headlights etc. also, try and see if there is a loose connection in the wiring to the stalk..

im no professional but thats what i would do...

BTW does it do it when you hit a bump or it just happens all of a sudden... because one of my friends has a lose windshield wiper stalk in his civic and every time he hits a bump or turns the steering wheel to hard his windshield wipers go off lol

It had done it once when at a standstill and one when driving. I have checked the wiring, as much as i can anyway, and cannot see anything obvious.

Where would the best place to get a replacment stalk?

I have this same problem sometimes.

Does anyone know how to change the low/high beam switch out?

Is it a relay or the actual switch.

It's very dangerous to be riding down the road and click to switch it to low beam and your lights go out on a dark hwy.
Any help would be appreciated.
