unless you have electrical problems with your headlights its just a matter of the stock housing and bulbs. The stock housing should provide enough light and better bulbs should help on a regular night (rain is hopeless). I have the Xtreme Whites and those perform well. The super plasmas do not make a good bulb since they appear more blue on the objects they hit and you get less visible light than you would a white light. Also try silverstars, they work work decently and are readily available. You might wanna check out the lightbulb review on hpoa too, but I think that is for 5th gens... its a sticky in the illumination section.

Another option is to get a hid conversion kit or retro fit... retro fit you can find on ebay and hid conversion kit you can use google/froogle to find. Probably get better results with a retro fit, but it depends how much $ you have. Make sure to get D2R bulbs for HID conversion... retro fit would involve putting a physical projector in your housing so you can use the D2S bulbs. Retro fit would be best route for quality and flare reduction, but its pricey.... if you put either HID in your car it is probably illegal in your state and you could get a ticket so do so at your own risk.

One other thing you might wanna check out is the housing lens? Are they yellow? Usually this happens because of the sun...too much direct sunlight on the headlights over time causes them to turn yellowish in color diminishing the light output.

Also, If your lights are really that dim you could have a bad ground connection on them. A bad ground causes the lights to turn on but be very dim.

Make sure that you headlights are aimed properly too.

Are you saying that the light from your JDM headlights are more dim than your USDM lights? That's normal if you're running the same lights for both because the JDM's are black housing compared to the chrome housing of the USDM. In other words, the USDMs would reflect light better than the JDMs.
