light bulb question

after 5 years of owning my prelude, my 3rd brake light (one of the two smaller bulbs) went out. first off, how hard is it to change... and second, what is the bulb number for the top mount 3rd brake light.

i didn't find anything difinitive when i searched.

thanks

just take the blub out to determine the type....

removal/replacement only takes about 10 seconds. You only need a small pry bar or a small screwdriver to pop the cover off, then twist the socket to get to the bulb.

Ive been struggling to find the right bulbs for the sunroof/cruise control/gauge light cluster for ages. It seems when I try to order the bulbs from honda the color and brightness just doesnt seem to match up.

I had the same problem regarding the cruise/roof/tcs switch. On my car, the text that illuminated on the button had a greenish color to it and when I took out the bulb, it had a little green rubber cover over the bulb to give it the green effect. I got replacement bulbs from my local Honda dealer but they were just normal bulbs which made the switch light up in the usual white color. i tried to remove the green covers but they had stuck to the bulb due to the heat and just tore when I tried to get them off, so I just replaced all three bulbs in the unit so they matched. IIRC there where to bulbs per switch, one to illuminate the text and the other was to tell you when the switch was on.

Not much help to you really, but that's how I got round it.
