License Plate Surrounding causing HUGE vibrations from subs. Suggestions?

The license plate surround on my lude is causing HUGE vibrations.
I am wondering what you have done to stop this.

I was thinking about taking the whole thing off and putting a small washer in all of the four bolts to hold in slightly out from the rest of the trunk.

Let me clarify, I am not talking about the license plate itself, rather the entire license plate section of the trunk.

Thanks guys!!!

Either quit rattling the windows of every house in the neighborhood or buy some dynamat. What is your audio setup?

Sell your audio and put the money towards performance parts and get a stock stereo system.

Dude. WTF is your problem? The true sign of a good audio system is hearing the license plate and/or trunk latch rattle like crazy. It's how all the homies do it.

I agree with turning it down, then again .. I had a pretty sweet setup for audio in mine, my license plate did rattle a bit.. I would suggest taking small pieces of rubber, get some rubber grommets and put them between the license plate and the car where you screw through, at the bottom maybe cut the grommets in half or get thinner rubber and glue it to the plate on both sides where it latches in, that should do it. Actually, dynamat is perfect to do that.. and any extra vibrations, pad the back of the plate.

If he cranks it up enough, eventually all those items will fall off

I wouldn't say that. Most of the older members here have, indeed, moved on from the Prelude. There are GTO's, Corvette's, modded wrx's, 350z's, etc....

I had a modded SVT Lightning for several years.

Furthermore, not all of us live our lives "a quarter mile at a time".

Further than that, not all of us are oblivious to the fact that not everybody on the road wants to hear your def jams as you roll down the boulevard. DaWG!

I can't really harp on that. I'm very guilty of rolling around with the windows down and the tunes cranked. However, the windows are down because it's hot. I don't have subs. And I only do it in the middle of the afternoon.

Oh yeah, and I don't listen to any of the homies talking about "slappin *****es", "bussin a cap in 5-0", "blazin dat chronic", or "let's get hot sweaty funky in your giant rump".

Maybe my age is catching up with me, but I can't hardly listen to music above a low level while driving. It makes me nervous, which is weird because I've played drums in bands most of my life. You'd think I wouldn't be bothered by noise.

What's worse, it's very likely that I'm older than you.
