legend vs vtec caliper swap

Ok i have done some research and i was just wondering which is actually the best? I have heard that either one is better than the other for different reasons. Also what are the recommended parts for these swaps by people that have done them here?

Not trying to throw out a cliche, but do a search.

There are debates about each, and I doubt you will find a clear cut answer, because I doubt anyone has tried both setups.

Kevie88 has the legend setup, and slick96 recently did the VTEC upgrade.

I'm sure they will both be upgrades from what you currently run.

the legend and Nsx should be roughly the same, i remember reading it on hp.com also, but as far as the different on the legend and Nsx i am unsure, but if and when i do this mod, i am Going after the Nsx just cause i figure i might as well go big

I've tired both setups..

From at SI to vtec Brake upgrade and then to a Legend Upgrade.

The amount of work to do either one is the same. They both directly bolt on... and use the smae pad. Only thing it he Lgen caliper have to be swapped left to right otherwise getting to the bleed screw is a bit tricky..

Anyway to make a long story shor. I'll take the Legend calipers over the SR-V calipers anyday.... and as far as NSX calipers, for the cost I would just get the Legend ones..

You must have money to burn.

The nsx pistons are actually smaller than the legend pistons.

Could you really identify a solid difference in them? Did you change out pads/rotors at the same time, and with what?

I have a quick ?

I am going with the legend setup becuase calipers are easier to find and cost alot less and the legend are just as good in theory.

But to split cost of upgrade I wanted to know if I get my ss lines and get vtec rotor will the si caliper be able to work with the bigger rotor?? thanks

I changed both pad and rotors (OEM SR-V (VTEC) Rotors with AEM pads)

The Legend (and SR-V) calipers are not compatible with the SR (Si)Rotors

The place where you notice the biggest difference is during high speed decelleration (track use) on the street you wouldn't notice much except in an emeregency..

A lot also depends on the tires. The OEM Rotor/Legend Caliper/AEM pad combo was more than my original tires (Stock sized Toyo T1-Plus) could handle. When I switched to 215/40/17 Toyo T1-S my stopping ability improved greatly. Esp. under hard braking..

no. thats why they have different calipers, and we can only use legand and nsx... they use the same size rotor

Grant, I am referring to the VTEC vs. Legend upgrade. Did you change anything else at the same time? I'm curious how the Legend compares to the VTEC.
