Legend caliper swap question

1. What year/model legend calipers will fit on my S?

2. What rotors would i need to get so i dont need to use old pad backings to make it work?

3. Will i need a larger master cylinder?

Thanks!

I hate to ask, but have you searched this topic yet? This has come up a number of times, and has been done by a number of Luders here. Search this, and I'm sure you'll find more than enough info.

I think the year is 88' 4dr sedan?? Dont know for sure tho'

ALSO...for the larger master cylinder I understand that it would supply more pressure to the caliper but would this help the clamping force of the pistons? I have also wondered this

1. Search for the exact years and model. It's been discussed before.

2. You need to make a shim no matter which rotors you use if you use the legend calipers. I went with the vtec rotors because they are larger than the si & s model rotors. The shim is used to compensate for the larger calipers.

3. Most people that do the swap don't swap the MC. I've never heard of it being a problem so I would say don't bother, I didn't.

Ok Kevin, maybe you can answer this... I've searched and the only person that has asked this has been me, and I've never gotten an answer. Is there any reason to think that a 5G caliper couldn't be used in a 4G Prelude? I'd like to have NSX/Legend calipers, but the reality is that both are very rare cars to find in salvage yards here in Miami, and something like a 5G is much more common...

I'm sure a 5th gen calipers could be used on a 4th gen. I don't really see the point of this swap because they are both 1 piston calipers. The only advantage of the 5th gen calipers would be that you can fit a vtec rotor under it. With the NSX/legend calipers you are getting a 2 piston caliper. I think it would be worth your time to do the legend swap if you are looking for some upgraded braking.

I found my calipers really easy. Just search at www.car-parts.com . It's a great site and you shouldn't have a problem finding a nice set...you'll just have to cover shipping charges if it's not local to you. I got mine for $110us shipped and they were in perfect condition.
