LED Bulbs For Exterior Lights
Good evening all,
I have been searching for this information, and am having a hard time nailing anything down. Can anyone tell me if they have tried using the "superbrightleds dot com" style replacement bulbs in their exterior lights (i.e. stop, tail, corner, marker, etc)?
I see that some people have used the standard low output type LED's, but wonder if the SMD type LED's might be a bit better.
If anyone has used them, what are your thoughts? Were they worth the money? How is the light distribution? Did they create a "hyper" flash scenario?
I'm seriously debating dropping the cash in light of the upcoming summer, and getting my Prelude out on the road again. I dig the way LED's tails flash, as they reach full intensity in microseconds vs. milliseconds, and don't have that pesky blackbody radiation issue that tungsten filament bulbs do. Sorry, I went all "nerdy engineer" there. In short, the look is cool, and they offer some great safety features, but I'm not willing to give up the overall aesthetics or performance of the OE system for something sub par.
I look forward to reading your responses.
Thanks,
Sean
