leaking oil???

Hi luders....

My 93 vtec has never given me n e problems, but recently i noticed there was smoke coming from under the hood. I checked it out and it looks like theres oil leaking. The smoke is coming up near the intake manifold. I have an AEM cold air intake and i see oil coming out from the pipe that connects from the valve cover to the intake. Is there suppose to be oil coming from out of there. I thought it was suppose to be just fumes? checked my oil the same night and it was half full. So i haven't driven my car for almost 2 weeks now. Can someone plz help???

thanks

no oil is supposed to traverse from that vaccum hose that connects to the intake, what I think you may have is a faulty head gasket, any one else care to take a stab?

I've been searching for my own oil leak demon for sometime now too. Crawl under your car, and look up the back of the engine towards the intake manifold. Check the oil pressure switch, filter, and valve cover gasket for leaks (They will raining down on your face). All of which drip oil onto your header/exhaust and boil smoke up into the engine bay where you said you saw it coming out. If not then, I agree with 4thGen.... its probably the head gasket needs replacing. (Perfect time to do a valve re-adjustment)

I recommend you disconnect the valve cover to intake line. It is a redundant system with the PCV valve to IM line. Put a pair of small crank case air filters on both or plug them. If for some reason your PCV valve is sucking oil into your manifold, you can buy oil catch cans for that line for around $100 that will stop that. No oil should be going into your manifold anywhere.
