Check the seal around the trunk lid and also check around your tail lights.

I had the same issue... since my driveway is on a downward slope, the water would find its way into the rear right passenger seat.

At first it was the rear window seal, replaced. Then the leak found its way halfway underneath the bootlid seal. If you lift the seal after rainfall, even after a day of drying, you'll still be able to pinpoint if the water finds its way underneath the seal.

Re-fit the seal nice and tight, maybe even add some rubber sealant such as Silastic.

I fixed this leak, and then the water started channeling down near the taillight to this circular black plug near the bottom left of the right taillight (remove the rear boot trim). The water would somehow leak through the top of the plug and into the boot again.

To fix this leak, remove the rear bumper and you'll even notice where the water has gone through and evaporated to leave a dust trail. Remove the black plug (push it out from the inside) apply more sealant, clean the plug and reapply.

My leak problem has been gone ever since, I've probably had about 4 or 5 big downpours in the last two weeks and no leaks

Let me know if you need pics

That's a huge help, thanks guys. Both my amps are mounted in the spare tire area and it hadn't rained since installed, well when it did on Sat. night, I had 6 inches of water covering them. Like a foot and a half total depth. The crazy thing is that they still work?! No fuses blown or anything.

the best solution to find the leak is to get into the trunk (or have a friend who trusts you) to get in, close the trunk and let a hose run on different areas around the rear windshield, trunk lid, and tail lights. Oh yeah, give your friend a flash light, and open up the rear passenger seat so they don't suffocate, and you should still be friends at the end. Either way, I second the previous comments, make sure your main trunk seal is in good condition, and check out your taillights from the inside to see if maybe water is coming in through there as it runs down the back of the car.
As for the Great Lake, take your lining out and keep it dry, I got into a collision with my old 2nd gen and after patching up the rear 1/4 panel, it ALWAYS leaked when it rained, after a while, it smelled like something was growing back there, not exactly a car you want to give girls a ride in.

Mine leaks too, not quite as bad as yours though. I havne't had a chance to locate the leak yet, but I suspect mine is at the trim piece at the bottom of the rear window.

wow it sounds like a pretty common problem, I think it's my back glass seal, after further inspection my back seat was wet too. I wonder how much that'll cost. Thanks again

I got my rear trim pice from Honda Spares, it cost me about usd$100. however, you can try and recondition the old piece, but it's tough to get it out and you might bend the frame as you try to pull the clips out from the bodywork.

But if you do manage to get it off no problems, simply slean off the rubber sealant on each clip, and also on the body where the clips attach to. Run some good anti rust primer over the trim piece and respray it black. Then reattach to the car, making sure to apply rubber sealant evenly and liberally so that it perfectly seals each clip into the body work.

My friend's trunk was leaking really bad, and eventually, the backseat would also be wet. It was due to bad drain hoses from the moon roof. The drain hoses run behind the quater panels to the back wheel wells. Thats what was causing his problem
