my timing belt recently snapped and bent all my valves....so i had to get it fixed at a shop.....$1100 later i got my car back and the check enging light came on.....it was the knock sensor code.....it was probably hit or something when they were messing with my head, but i cant prove that.....so how do i kno for shore that it is bad.....by looking at it?.....how can i tell?

try resetting your ECU first and see if the CEL comes back

reseting the ecu did not do the trick....i guess i will have to change the sensor....anyone know where i could get one cheap?....also, i can see the sensor but im not sure what the best way to get to it is, any input?

best way to get to it is just like changing the oil filter. don't think there's a cheap one you can get though..

so how do i actually change the sensor....somone said i had to solder a wire on or something?

Absolut

The knock just screws into the block above the oil filter. It has 1 wire, dont confuse it with the oil dummy light sensor, below the oil filter, also with one wire.

I wouldnt get a cheap KS either, as it affects ignition timing and power output and what not, also if it doesnt work right you can potentially cause damage to the engine from excessive knock.
